Mr. Jeelani Baig

Mr. Jeelani Baig holds a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Karachi and brings over 47 years of experience in tyre design, development, and manufacturing. Since joining General Tyre in 1978, he has been instrumental in the company’s technical and operational growth, leading key initiatives such as the commissioning of Bias, Radial, Agricultural, and Motorcycle tyre plants.

He introduced several pioneering technologies in Pakistan, including rear farm tyres, radial steel-belted tubeless passenger and van tyres, Formula 3 race car tyres, and motorcycle tubeless tyres. His leadership was central to GTR’s major plant expansion in the 1980s and the establishment of new production lines over the years.

Mr. Baig has received international training in tyre design and manufacturing from renowned organizations such as General Tyre International (USA), Continental Tyres (Germany and Czech Republic) and Toyo (Japan), and has worked closely with OEMs like Toyota, Honda, Suzuki, Kia, and Hyundai on new product development.

Previously serving as Executive Director Works, he now continues to support GTR as Manufacturing Advisor, ensuring continued technical excellence and operational efficiency. His dedication and vision remain integral to the company’s sustained success. Recognized as the most experienced professional in Pakistan tyre industry.
